Boosting the activity for organic pollutants removal of In < sub > 2 < /sub > O < sub > 3 < /sub > by loading Ag particles under natural sunlight irradiation
Environ Res. 2024 Mar 6;251(Pt 1):118649. doi: 10.1016/j.envres.2024.118649. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA novel photocatalyst In2O3 with loading Ag particles is prepared via a facile one-step annealing method in air atmosphere. The Ag/In2O3 exhibits considerable photoactivity for decomposing sulfisoxazole (SOX), tetracycline hydrochloride (TC), and rhodamine B (RhB) under natural sunlight irradiation, which is much higher than that of pristine In2O3 and Ag species. After natural sunlight irradiation for 100 min, 70.6% of SOX, 65.6% of TC, and 81.9% of RhB are degraded over Ag/In2O3, and their corresponding chemical oxyg...

Detection of antibiotic residues in groundwater with a validated multiresidue UHPLC-MS/MS quantification method
This study investigates the occurrence of antibiotics in groundwater in areas strongly related to agriculture and the antibiotic treatment of animals. A multiresidue method was validated according to EU Regulation 2021/808, to allow (semi-)quantitative analysis of 78 antibiotics from 10 different classes: β-lactams, sulfonamides, tetracyclines, lincosamides, amphenicols, (fluoro)quinolones, macrolides, pleuromutilins, ansamycins and diaminopyrimidines using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS). This method was used to test different storage conditions of these water samples d...

Antimicrobial resistance in generic < em > E. coli < /em > isolated from western Canadian cow-calf herds
CONCLUSION AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Most generic E. coli isolates were pansusceptible. The observed resistance patterns were consistent with earlier studies of AMR from commensal E. coli in this region. Baseline AMR data for cow-calf herds are not currently collected as part of routine surveillance, but are essential to inform antimicrobial use policy and stewardship.PMID:38304484 | PMC:PMC10783568 (Source: The Canadian Veterinary Journal)
