I have good stats (3.9 GPA and 523 MCAT) but also have 11 Ws and 1F. How much should I be worried?
Here are my stats. One of the top UCs. 1. 3.9 GPA (Including the 1F factored in) 2. 523 MCAT 3. 2 research publications as a co-author and 1 poster presentation 4. Served as an Air Force Pararescue Jumper for 8 years. (Special Forces where we go down to save downed soldiers) However, my concern is the following. I have 11Ws and 1F which I replaced with an A from my community college. (car accident, didn't know what I wanted to major in, etc) Are there any chances of me being accepted to... Can you practice dentistry standing up? Friend broke his back. Should he still go into dentistry?
I have a pre-dental friend who just graduated from a top university. He was in the process of applying to dental schools but unfortunately had an accident and broke his back (spine compression fracture). It has fully healed but he now finds it uncomfortable (and sometimes painful) to sit for long periods of time. He is wondering if he can become a dentist by doing all of the dental work in the standing position. Standing is no problem for him; it is sitting that bothers him a lot. Should he... Does your district run like this?
ok check it out....My district has 12 stores. I manage one. obviously. my DM hires all part time flexi-staff. We do not have adequate coverage for any incidental problems. Example... a pharmacist quits, goes on PTO, has an accident, family emergency, etc...so my scheduler or DM at this moment will call on US, the 80 hour managers to cover anything he can get. The problem is, i'm so exhausted from running/working my store (which does very well) i want some time to myself. I do however cover... Does your district run like this? Need Your Honest Opinions....
I am accepting brutal honesty and also encouragement if you see any glimmer of hope for me. I AM willing to spend the time, money, and dedication to realize this dream so if more credits are needed to be taken then I will. I graduated in 2014 with first Bachelors. Sub 3.0 GPA. Accidents and financial difficult coupled with depression led me to a very very dark place that peaked in 2014-2016. Started DIY post... Need Your Honest Opinions.... (Source: Student Doctor Network)

3 weeks enough for MCAT?
Initially allocated a semester and 3 weeks after classes for the MCAT. Ended up getting into a bad car accident, had to pull out from classes (still graduating in time, just dropped my 2nd major) and quit my job for rehabilitation. Finally feeling okay enough to crack down on MCAT, but unsure if I have enough time. Here's where I'm at now: -read 1/3 of EK material -took AAMC FL1 yesterday, my first prac exam (took two extra 5-min breaks in C/P b/c back pain; for real exam I can endure):... 3 weeks enough for MCAT? Be stubborn about your goals but flexible with your methods WAMC
Hey guys, someone important in my life told me once to "be stubborn about your goals but flexible with your methods". I've continued to abide by that saying my whole life, and it's what's gotten me to change my ways. My several years of college I was lost in my ways, didn't have a goal and didn't have motivation. After I was involved in a vehicle accident, I'm thankful I was given a second chance. So now here I am pursuing a medical degree. However, I can't change the past and I fear it... Southwest Plane Accident, Alveolar PO2
I was reading this article about how most passengers in the recent Southwest flight that lost an engine + window were wearing their oxygen masks incorrectly: Southwest Airlines Flight 1380 suffered a major engine failure on Tuesday, forcing its pilot to make an emergency landing. Shrapnel pierced the airplane's fuselage, blew out a window, and caused the cabin of...Click to expand... Southwest Plane Accident, Alveolar PO2 (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Gap Year idea
Hello! So I plan on applying to medical school not this cycle, but the one after. So technically I will be taking 2 gap years. I was just wondering for the people that did take gap years, what kinds of things did you guys do to improve your applications? I currently have a 3.87 and will be graduating this May. I scored a 515 on the MCAT. My reasons for taking gap years: possibly help my father out financially (he missed 6 months of work due to an accident), see what else is out there, and... I need someone who understands pharmacy licensure to answer. Like the title says i blew 0.00 on the breathalyzer and my blood test results came back negative for everything. I got in a car accident and was unconscious until a witness and or a paramedic banged on the door. I was able to walk out of the car. Eventually a police officer came had me do a field sobriety test and i failed the 2nd test which was standing on one foot. I got arrested for probably cause. At the station i took the... My boyfriend died and I missed all my finals, my school refused to expunge grades
My boyfriend died in a car accident a week before my finals. I emailed my teachers and let them know what happened and they said they would give me a WU and I can try to get it expunged through the university. A WU means "university withdrawl" but is equivalent to an F. My university denied my request to expunge my grades because we were not married and I'm not related to him, they will do it for family emergencies only. I am a non-science major so my science GPA plummeted from 3.6 to 3.1.... My boyfriend died and I missed all my finals, my school refused to expunge grades (Source: Student Doctor Network)
