Evaluation of the Effect of Oral Isotretinoin on the Level of Serum YKL40 in Acne Vulgaris Patients: A Cross-Sectional Case-Control
CONCLUSION: The conclusion of this study was that reducing the blood levels of YKL-40 and the GAGS score in patients with acne vulgaris who took oral isotretinoin for three months was a crucial strategy.PMID:37965101 | PMC:PMC10642491 | DOI:10.2147/CCID.S431856 (Source: Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology)

Isotretinoin is not associated with inflammatory bowel disease even when compared with topical antibiotics and topical retinoids

Previous observational studies yielded inconsistent observations.3 (Source: Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology)

A new perspective on isotretinoin in pregnancy: Pregnancy outcomes, evaluation of complex phenotypes, and importance of teratological counselling
CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrated that study design, long-term follow-up, teratological counseling, and implementation of advanced molecular analysis in complex phenotypes with novel phenotypical features are beneficial for understanding the association of congenital anomalies with isotretinoin exposure. While evaluating congenital anomalies, we detected statistically significant differences between isotretinoin exposure before and during the pregnancy vs control, but we did not detect any statistically significant differences between isotretinoin exposure before the pregnancy and controls. Another finding of the study i...
