UpToDate for ABFM CME
I’ve got enough UpToDate Credits to meet the full 150 hours required over the last 3 years. UpToDate says it’s approved for 20 hours per year for AAFP. It doesn’t explicitly say anything about ABFM. Has anyone used UpToDate for ALL of their ABFM CME? Has ABFM ever clarified this issue? Thanks in advance (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Mental Health Practice Question
Please forgive my ignorance since I'm not a mental health therapist (maybe an aspiring one? - will discuss privately). Is there a model for therapy/psychology services similar to the direct primary care model for primary care physicians? Direct Primary Care Innovative primary care model being embraced by patients, physicians, employers, payers and policymakers across the United States www.dpcare.org Direct Primary Care Read the AAFP's policy statement on direc...

Membership in Honorary/Professional Societies on ERAS
If you paid for membership of societies like the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) or the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and have attended their national conferences would you add them in the "Membership in Honorary/Professional Societies" section? Or should you be in a leadership position in these organizations if you list them in ERAS in this section? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

ABFM Required Annual Fees?
I graduated in 2019 and believe that I need to complete some PI activities by 2022 to stay boarded so I logged into my account to try and complete PI activities. It's saying that I owe the board $200 per year (so $400 right now). I'm not really sure what this fee is or if I need to pay it. I've determined that there are tons of fees that are optional (AAFP, AMA, a bunch of other advertising disguised as invoices) so I'm trying to determine if this one is legit or not. It's giving me the... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

ITE Score
Received ITE Scores today, I am an intern and I received a 390 score. Any tips on improvement for next year? I did a good chunk of my KSA's earlier on, which didn't help at all in preparation. I had reviewed the past ITE's on ABFM site and also done several 10 free board review questions on AAFP site. However, the questions for the ITE were quite different and for the most part did not reflect the topics in either resource I had used. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Cme??
I am in a Family Medicine Program and also have my own license. I will be boarded in Family Medicine when I am done. Since I have my own license, do I have to do CME? If so, who do I report it to? AOA, AAFP, etc? I am a DO. No idea how this CME works or if there is a required place that I need to go to report it. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

E/M coding changes
Are you or your organization doing anything to prepare for the new E/M changes? I’m in a leadership role now and have brought this up to billing and IT, but no one seems to have a plan. The AAFP keeps sending out info and ideas about how to get prepared, but my org seems to be casual about this. So which one is it? Do we need to prepare or is it no big deal and we’ll just figure it out on Jan 2021? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Board topic breakdown

The AAFP board review lists the top question categories as Respiratory Cardiovascular Musculoskeletal Module But now that the module has been removed what is the 4th category that is high yield Thanks (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Annual Labs Guidelines- recommendations
Do you order annual labs for any and all Patients that you see? I have been told by folks that things have changed and annual labs (i.e. cbc, BMP, UA) are not at all necessary on pts. just because you see them for a physical. What are your feelings towards this? I come from a different era, when it is a custom to order labs annually and then go over those with your PCP during your physical. Any advice,I would appreciate any AAFP links in this matter, I tried to search but no luck. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

CME--who all do I send it to?!
Pardon my ignorance. I've tried searching here and it brings up CME offers. I tried to google--and it brought up CME offers. I figure this is the best place to talk to someone with some experience that deals with the family medicine criteria. I'm a year into practice and have no idea what the hell I'm doing with the stuff. AAFP/ABFM both say 150 credits per 3 year cycle. Do I just upload it all to AAFP? Do I need to send something to my state board? Do I send something to my... CME--who all do I send it to?! How to access the AAFP practice q's for the shelf?
I've been having a hard time figuring out how to access these supposedly great practice questions. Shelf exam in less than a month and almost done with comquest. I've heard the aafp questions are great. But I can't seem to find them. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

AAFP Conference Anyone?
Is anyone interested or will be attending the feline practitioner conference Oct.31-Nov. 3rd in San Francisco this year? I'm looking for someone who may potentially want to split hotel costs. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Family Medicine Shelf
For those that have taken the NBME Family Medicine Shelf, what are the best resources to use? I have heard that CASE Files is ideal to get the cases down, but what additonal sources are good, esp for questions. Has anyone used Pre-test? I heard about AAFP questions but it seems that they are hit or miss. Thanks (Source: Student Doctor Network)

FP Comprehensive Review
Hello. Anybody has used the FP Comprehensive Review from the AAFP to prepare for the ABFM? They are offering one year online access + Flash drive for a reasonable price for residents (IMO). Any thoughts? Thanks for your input. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Family Medicine and " Teaser Salaries"
I have a question for the experienced here, on the AAFP article "Salaries Climbing" there were a few people in the comments saying it is common for places desperate for Docs to offer higher salaries to new grads ~ 240k for the first couple of years, then switch to a production method where salaries are usually lower - 160-180k. I could see this being the case in places that really need doctors but have a low volume of patients, but not in places where there is high demand and high...
