Gray report makes sickening reading and shows betrayal of public trust, says UNISON

Responding to the findings of the Sue Gray report into Downing Street parties released today (Wednesday), UNISON general secretary Christina McAnea said: “The Prime Minister and his mates partied while NHS and public sector staff put their lives on the line to keep the country going. They’ll rightly be sickened by Sue Gray’s findings. “People obeyed the rules and expected others would do the same to stop the virus. The Prime Minister and his team betrayed the nation’s trust and are damaging any faith they have in politicians. The Covid public inquiry can’t come soon enough.” Notes to editors:  – UNISON is the UK’s largest union, with more than 1.3 million members providing public services – in education, local government, the NHS, police service and energy. They are employed in both the public and private sectors.   The article Gray report makes sickening reading and shows betrayal of public trust, says UNISON first appeared on the UNISON National site.
