Slash health: 'I was fortunate. I didn’t die' - guitarist on drug-induced heart disease

LEGENDARY guitarist Slash, born Saul Hudson, made his name as part of hard rock band Guns N' Roses. Having reached the height of his fame in the 1990s, Slash struggled with both drugs and alcohol addiction, a habit that would severely damage his long-term health as back in 2001, he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a form of congestive heart failure.
