Memphis company scores $1 million in federal funding

Memphis-based Translational Sciences Inc. has received a $1 million grant from the National Institutes of Health. The funding, which will come through NIH’s Small Business Innovation Research awards, will allow the company to explore ways to treat blood clots inside the body through a project called “Novel Methods for Dissolving Blood Clots.” The research will cover attempts to dissolve blood clots through molecular engineering in an effort to reduce death, disability and cost of service.
