This prospective study of OnabotulinumtoxinA injection (BTX-A) bladder injections in patients with neurogenic bladder specifically from congenital spinal dysraphism (CSD), adds to the literature by assessing both patient-reported and more traditional urodynamic measurements, but also by taking an important look at the “high risk” population. This cohort of patients with characteristics worrisome for eventual bladder deterioration and kidney damage is small and heterogeneous as expected in CSD especially by the time they reach a transitional urologist, but is still meaningful.
