'I was told I could die in hospital'- liver disease sufferer warns of killer condition

LIVER DISEASE can be caused by a number of things. Chronic alcohol consumption, fat accumulation in the liver or infection such as hepatitis A,B or C are just a few. The liver is an organ around the size of an American football and is essential for digesting food and ridding your body of toxic substances. Once badly damaged, liver disease can lead to scarring known as cirrhosis which in turn can lead to the liver not being able to function properly.
