Tau talk - synaptic and mitochondrial proteins interact with Tau in human neurons

Trends Neurosci. 2022 Feb 26:S0166-2236(22)00038-8. doi: 10.1016/j.tins.2022.02.004. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn a recent study, Tracy et al. observed that Tau interacts with mitochondrial and presynaptic vesicle proteins in human iPSC-derived neurons. Tau with mutations that cause neurodegeneration has decreased mitochondrial interactions. This elegant interactome mapping with supporting human brain data paves the way to a better understanding of Tau pathology and future Tau-directed therapeutics.PMID:35232606 | DOI:10.1016/j.tins.2022.02.004
