Patient outcomes after lung resection. The impact of unplanned readmission

The objective of this review was to compile a detailed and comprehensive dataset on unplanned readmissions after pulmonary resection so as to better understand the associated factors and how they may be attenuated. Based on the identified risk factors, prevention involves improved preoperative preparation of at-risk patients and preoperative discharge planning so as to help prevent unscheduled readmissions, which are predictive of a poorer prognosis.PMID:35034830 | DOI:10.1016/j.rmr.2021.11.006
