Comment on: “Oesophageal and Gastric Malignancies after Bariatric Surgery: A Retrospective Global Study”

We have read with great interest the study from Parmar et al. reporting the thus far largest study on esophago-gastric malignancies after prior obesity surgery. The authors performed a retrospective worldwide, not representative survey among bariatric-metabolic and upper-GI surgeons. Collaborators were reached through personal networks, social media groups of healthcare professionals working in the field as well as per email to members of the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS), Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery (AUGIS), and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO).
