Prenatal diagnosis of pseudocoarctaion of the aorta

Pseudocoarctation is a rare congenital anomaly which is characterized by kinking or buckling of the aorta. The condition does not cause any hemodynamic obstruction, and decreased blood pressure in the lower extremities is thought to not be observed [1,2]. Although asymptomatic cases are incidentally recognized by auscultation and/or chest X-ray, pseudocoarctation presents severe symptoms such as headache, dizziness and even sudden death [1]. Owing to the rarity of this entity, characteristic findings of pseudocoarctation in utero have not been reported so far.
