Lost in translation: stewardship vs. interdisciplinarity

During the past several months, there has been much commentary in response to the questions raised by Algase and colleagues (2021) in the January/February issue of Nursing Outlook. Most of the focus seems to be on the value of interdisciplinary nursing faculty and their contribution to nursing and/or team science. However, what seems to be lost in translation and interpretation is the need to ensure that we adequately prepare individuals with research doctorates in nursing to steward the discipline now and into the future.
