CONCLUSION: Our study suggests that in Puerto Rico, patients with Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease may have a distinctive prevalence of characteristics at the presentation when compared to other ethnic groups, including other Hispanic cohorts.PMID:35077075

Pasteurella multocida can cause serious soft tissue infections and, less commonly, septic arthritis, osteomyelitis, and sepsis especially in immunocompromised hosts. P. multocida can cause meningitis or meningoencephalitis, occasionally with the formation of abscesses, but is rarely the cause of other neurological diseases. Miller Fisher Syndrome (MFS) is a parainfectious autoimmune disorder presenting with ophthalmoplegia, ataxia and areflexia.

ConclusionsOur results suggested that the level of CSF NLRP3 could represent the severity of CABM in adults. CSF NLRP3 may be a good biomarker for the diagnosis of CABM and for the discrimination between CABM and VM. It may also be a better biomarker for predicting the prognosis of adult patients with CABM when compared to the NLR or the lymphocyte and monocyte counts.

ConclusionAlthough the overall IMD incidence decreased in Europe between 2008 and 2017, increases were observed for serogroups W and Y, and in the older population when considering all serogroups. It may be necessary to adapt current vaccination strategies to reflect epidemiological changes and their likely future evolution.PMID:35057902 | DOI:10.2807/1560-7917.ES.2022.27.3.2002075

CONCLUSION: The incidence of post-vaccination aseptic meningitis has declined significantly since 2001, and the incidence has remained stable at fewer than 3 cases per 100,000 doses since 2010. Multiple factors might have contributed to the decline in aseptic meningitis incidence, including (i) lowered misclassification of aseptic meningitis resulting from echovirus infection; (ii) changes in the vaccine manufacturing process in 2000; and (iii) publication in 2008 of the recommendation for vaccination of children at 1 year of age.PMID:35058077 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2022.01.008
