NT ‐proBNP as a marker for atrial fibrillation and heart failure in four observational outpatient trials

ConclusionsIn stable outpatients, NT-proBNP is a better marker for prevalent and incident AF than for HF. In AF patients, the diagnostic value of NT-proBNP for HF with EF  >  50% is very limited.
