ConclusionsQoL is very good in most LAPC patients with disease control after FOLFIRINOX, measured with validated questionnaires and Actiwatch registration. The fear of clinical deterioration after FOLFIRINOX is not substantiated by this study and should not be a reason to refrain from treatment.Trial registrationDutch trial register NL7578.

DISCUSSION: An adequate long-term control of pain symptoms in patients with mPDAC is an unmet clinical need. Despite improvements in systemic treatment, local complications due to pPCa remain a clinical challenge. We hypothesize that patients with mPDAC will benefit from a local treatment of the pPCa by MR-guided SBRT in terms of a durable pain control with a simultaneously favorable safe toxicity profile translating into an improvement of quality-of-life.TRIAL REGISTRATION: German Registry for Clinical Trials (DRKS): DRKS00025801. We report the case of a 61-year-old man with recurrent spontaneous TLS caused by esophageal cancer. He was admitted to our hospital to investigate low back pain and dysphagia. Endoscopy and computed tomography revealed esophageal cancer with multiple liver and bone metastases. He was diagnosed with laboratory TLS based on high serum uric acid and phosphorus. After intravenous fluids and allopurinol were administrated, chemotherapy with 5-fluorouracil and cisplatin was started the next day. Although he transiently developed clinical TLS, it was resolved with conservative treatment. However, mild renal dysfunction was prolon...

AbstractPurpose of ReviewPersistent and chronic pain after cancer surgery is a complex clinical problem. The etiology of pain in these cases is often multifactorial and, in addition to the surgery itself, can include or overlap with other painful syndromes such as direct effects of tumors, neuropathic pain, and pain syndromes secondary to chemotherapy and/or radiation.Recent FindingsThere is a growing body of literature which suggests that treating pain in the acute and subacute periods can prevent chronic pain, an important step in reducing the morbidity of this clinical problem.SummaryThis review describes the incidence ...

Comput Math Methods Med. 2022 Jan 10;2022:4312117. doi: 10.1155/2022/4312117. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTLung infection seriously affects the effect of chemotherapy in patients with lung cancer and increases pain. The study is aimed at establishing the prediction model of infection in patients with lung cancer during chemotherapy by an artificial neural network (ANN). Based on the data of historical cases in our hospital, the variables were screened, and the prediction model was established. A logistic regression (LR) model was used to screen the data. The indexes with statistical significance were selected, and the LR model...
