Discussion

Dr Sam Tyagi (Lexington, Ky): I ’d like to thank the authors on a very excellent manuscript and presentation and for the Society for providing me an opportunity to discuss the scientific work. With the proliferation of endovascular technology, we are now able to repair more aneurysms with ever improving outcomes. The not so obvi ous disadvantage of treating the majority of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) by endovascular means is that we don’t have much human tissue to study in the lab. We understand bits and pieces of aneurysm pathophysiology, but are very far from the full picture.
