Impact of urinary incontinence on quality of life in female CrossFit practitioners: A cross-sectional study

Urinary incontinence (UI) is defined as any involuntary urine loss and is currently considered as a public health problem [1].UI is commonly classified into three forms: stress urinary incontinence (SUI), urgency urinary incontinence (UUI) and mixed urinary incontinence (MUI) [2 –4]. The etiology of UI is multifactorial, although many risk factors have been identified such as: aging, obesity, pregnancy, parity, mode of delivery, hysterectomy, smoking, neurological or biochemical changes, presence of diseases (e.g., diabetes, cognitive impairment, depression, urinary tract infection), in addition to increased intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) and high-impact activities [5–7].
