Isolated fallopian tube torsion associated with paratubal cyst in a young woman

A 21-year-old nulliparous woman was admitted to our gynecology unit with sudden onset of left pelvic pain and a negative beta-human chorion gonadotropin. Her medical history was unremarkable. Transvaginal ultrasound showed a 40  × 48 mm anechoic unilocular cyst, prolapsed in the pouch of Douglas and dislocated to the left. The left ovary was normal, but a 14 × 18 mm mass was noted cephalic to the cyst and lateral to the left ovary.
