Statin use and renal function after aortic aneurysm repair procedures
Novak et al1 investigated the factors associated with the development of postoperative acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients undergoing elective aortic aneurysm repair. They demonstrated that low preoperative hemoglobin values, a low preoperative estimated glomerular filtration rate, an increased procedura l time, an increased total number of transfusions, and higher amounts of contrast agent use were associated with the development of postoperative AKI in patients undergoing aortic aneurysm repair.
