Antibiotics versus Appendectomy for Acute Appendicitis Longer-Term Outcomes

CODA trial found antibiotic treatment non-inferior to appendectomy on basis of a measure of general health status at 30 days. This letter reports longer-term outcomes in antibiotic group: 40% at 1 year and 46% at 2 years underwent subsequent appendectomy.
