Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGBP) is the preferred procedure for morbidly obese patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG) may worsen GERD postoperatively. We assessed the diagnostic yield and clinical impact of routine comprehensive preoperative evaluation.
