Effect of Bariatric Surgery on the Risk of Psychiatric Illness
Bariatric surgery (BS) can induce significant weight loss and numerous physical health advantages. However, the effect of BS on the risk of psychiatric illness has not been well-characterized, despite mental health diagnoses being prevalent among patients with obesity. We compared the risk of all-cause psychiatric diagnosis among BS patients vs obese controls.
