An Algorithmic Approach for Total Hip Arthroplasty in Patients with Post Polio Residual Paralysis and Hip Arthritis

Total hip arthroplasty (THA) in patients with post-polio residual paralysis (PPRP) is challenging. Despite relief in pain after THA, pre-existing soft-tissue contractures may not only cause difficulty in walking, but also poses risk of dislocation, accelerated poly wear and early loosening.
