Is There a “July Effect” in Thyroidectomy? An Analysis of the Thyroidectomy-Targeted NSQIP Datasets
The “July effect” is defined as the increased likelihood for poor outcomes earlier in the academic year with respect to the rest of the year. This has been studied in various surgical procedures with inconsistent results, but has not been studied in thyroidectomy.
