Long-term Outcomes of the Inaugural Surgical Exploration and Discovery Program at University of Illinois at Chicago
The current pre-clerkship curriculum provides medical students with very little exposure to surgery which may contribute to declining interests in pursuing a surgical career. The Surgical Exploration and Discover (SEAD ©) program is a 2-week summer program, designed at the University of Toronto in 2012 and adopted by our institution in 2014, to increase exposure to surgical specialties.
