NDNS: Diet and physical activity – a follow-up study during COVID-19

The National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS) follow up study, ‘Diet, nutrition and physical activity in 2020 – a follow up study during COVID-19’, was published in September. This webinar will describe the background, methods, findings and limitations of the study which aimed to describe and assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the diet and phy sical activity of people in the UK in 2020. Self-reported diet and physical activity data were collected for around 1,000 adults and children from August to October 2020 and compared with their diet and activity data obtained at the time of their original NDNS rolling programme interview, on averag e 2 years 7 months earlier. Data on food security, financial security and changes in dietary and health-related behaviours since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK in February 2020 were also collected in this study through a web questionnaire with the aim of helping to understand the conte xt for any changes in diet and activity. The follow up study used the new NDNS dietary assessment method based on the online recall tool Intake24.   The webinar will also describe this major methodological change for NDNS, summarise the findings of the first stage of evaluation, also published in September, and plans for further evaluation. Continuing Professional Development (CPD)This webinar has been endorsed by the Association for Nutrition (AfN) (EN175).Wednesday, 3 November, 2021 -12:00 to13:00United KingdomIs this an on...
