Establishing a process to translate and adapt health education materials for natives and immigrants: The case of Mandarin adaptations of cardiac rehabilitation education
The growing burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in China has rendered it a major public health issue, with 11 million people living with coronary artery disease (CAD).1 Moreover, consistent with overall increases in global migration, many Chinese people have resettled in Asian, but also Western, countries (e.g., Unites States, Canada);2 this renders control of CVD an issue for Chinese people elsewhere as well. Indeed, in 2019, Chinese-born migrants were the third largest foreign-born population in the world, with nearly 11 million people living outside of China.
