In Situ Straightening of a Bent Tibiofemoral Intramedullary Nail: Case Report and Review of the Literature

We present a case of a 51-year-old male with a long history of prior left knee arthrodesis with a tibiofemoral nail who sustained a work injury resulting in a proximal tibia fracture and bent tibiofemoral nail. Clinically, he presented with significant varus and procurvatum limb deformity and a six-centimeter limb length discrepancy. The patient was successfully managed with in situ straightening of the tibiofemoral nail under a general anesthetic with return to work three months following manipulation.
