Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloHCT) is used as a potentially curative therapy for patients with high-risk hematological disorders1. However, patients undergoing alloHCT require profound immunosuppression to preserve graft function and to prevent graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), predisposing them to infectious complications that increase morbidity and risk of mortality2 –4.
