Multifocal “CEOT”: Possible “MCHDF”?

We have read with interest the recent article by McCloy et al1 describing 13 synchronous multifocal calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumors (CEOT) in a 30-year-old man. The patient had 15 small mixed radiolucent/radiopaque lesions in dentigerous relationships with impacted teeth (3 canines, 6 premolars, 4 second molars, and 2 third molars) in all 4 quadrants. A careful review of the pantographic and cone-beam computed tomography images provided suggests that multiple calcifying hyperplastic dental follicles (MCHDF) should also have been considered.
