55.1 treatment of chronic pain during covid-19: guidance from an anesthesiologist

Chronic pain is a nonnegligible challenge, given its considerable social and economic burden and its significant contribution to the opioid crisis, thus shedding light on the need for adequate nonopioid treatment options. Treatment of chronic pain in the COVID-19 pandemic is challenging for pain physicians in terms of risks of harm from both undertreatment and inappropriate treatment. This presentation highlights the most novel evidence-based approaches to chronic pain and focuses on practical treatment considerations in light of COVID-19.
