The (Re)Tired Geriatrician

I practiced internal medicine and geriatrics for nearly four decades. Those in my cohort of doctor-friends have been retired for years. The surgeon has gone fishing, the ophthalmologist moved to his cabin in the woods, the orthopedist raises cattle, the pediatrician paints in her studio, the cardiologist looks out from his eyrie on the top of a mountain, and the neurologist plays online bridge.
