Factors and Challenges in Understanding SARS-CoV-2 RNA Levels, Symptoms, and Transmissibility

To the Editor The article by Chung and colleagues reported that SARS-CoV-2 RNA levels as determined by reverse transcription –polymerase chain reaction cycle threshold values were higher in symptomatic participants than in asymptomatic participants among both children and adults. Furthermore, no difference in the SARS-CoV-2 RNA levels was observed between children and adults.
