Impact of COVID-19 on opioid use in those awaiting hip and knee arthroplasty: a retrospective cohort study, BMJ Quality and Safety

Study (n=548) found a larger proportion of patients awaiting arthroplasty whose surgery was delayed due to Covid-19 were prescribed opioid-based analgesia compared with historical controls (55.0% vs 41.2%, respectively, p=0.002), despite a lower frequency of use at referral.
