Lipid management across Europe in the real-world setting: a rapid evidence review
CONCLUSIONS: LDL-C control is suboptimal and the available LLT armamentarium, most importantly combination therapy, is being underutilized in high/very high risk patients leading to inadequate management of cardiovascular risk.PMID:34517739 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2021.1973396
In conclusion, premature thymic involution and chronic inflammation greatly contribute to increased morbidity and mortality in CKD patients. Mechanisms are likely to be multiple and interlinked. Even when the quest to fountain of youth is a pipe dream, there are many scientific opportunities to prevent or to, at least in part, reverse CKD-related immune senescence. Further studies should precisely define most important pathways driving premature immune ageing in CKD patients and best therapeutic options to control them. Conclusions. Selected statins, FLC, CAs and HMGA can manage or have a potential to manage at least three features of the cluster of seven. Most of the literature-stated concerns are with select statins but there are concerns (one actual and two potential) with HMGA.PMID:34523296 | DOI:10.2478/enr-2021-0020
