Breaking up of prolonged sitting over three days sustains, but does not enhance, lowering of postprandial plasma glucose and insulin in overweight and obese adults
Conclusion: There were significant between-condition effects but no temporal change in metabolic responses to MTT, indicating that breaking up sitting over three days sustains, but does not enhance, the lowering of postprandial glucose and insulin.
This study suggests that higher doses of RK may cause adverse effects in health compromised conditions. Under these conditions, prolonged use of RK, especially in high doses, may pose a health hazard. PMID: 31603036 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

ConclusionMLL remains to be underdiagnosed. Due to the obesity epidemic, clinicians must be aware of this once rare disease. The role of concurrent bariatric surgery with surgical resection of MLL warrants further studies.
ConclusionsPreoperative skin antisepsis for trauma surgery of the lower leg and foot using CHX led to significantly fewer complications of wound healing when compared to PVP-I.
This study aimed to investigate prevalence and risk factors of biopsy proven NAFLD in a cluster of healthy non-obese and lean individuals. Methods and MaterialsIn a retrospective study, adult (> 18 years) apparently healthy individuals who had donated liver to pediatric patients between July 2012 and October 2018 were included. Non-obese and lean individuals were defined as BMI
Objectives: Rapid fluid resuscitation has become standard in sepsis care, despite “low-quality” evidence and absence of guidelines for populations “at risk” for volume overload. Our objectives include as follows: 1) identify predictors of reaching a 30 mL/kg crystalloid bolus within 3 hours of sepsis onset (30by3); 2) assess the impact of 30by3 and fluid dosing on clinical outcomes; 3) examine differences in perceived “at-risk” volume-sensitive populations, including end-stage renal disease, heart failure, obesity, advanced age, or with documentation of volume “overload&rd...
ConclusionOLE exerts beneficial effects in HFD-induced obesity in mice, which was associated to an improvement in plasma and tissue metabolic profile, inflammatory status, gut microbiota composition and vascular dysfunction.Graphical abstract
CONCLUSIONS: A. muciniphila exerts a key role in the maintenance of intestinal health and in host metabolic modulation. Future studies could open new horizons towards its potential therapeutic applications in gastrointestinal and extra-intestinal diseases. PMID: 31599433 [PubMed - in process]
The aim of this review was to identify and, particularly, to classify all the numerous environmental factors that play a significant role in the environment-dependent body weight dysregulation. The main environmental obesogenic factors are related to build environment such as city plan, transport and school, inactivity, TV and screen-related immobility, smart-phone, video games; they are followed by agroalimentary factors such as imbalanced ingredients, pollutants, speed eating, portion size, sweet drinks, nibbling and junk foods supported by publicity, sociocultural and ethnic factors beside the global environmental chang...
