Antegrade double-J stent placement for the treatment of malignant obstructive uropathy: A retrospective cohort study
CONCLUSION: This retrospective study shows that antegrade ureteral stent insertion has a high success rate with minimal complications.TRIAL REGISTRATION: ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT04649970. Registered december 2, 2020- Retrospectively registered, https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04649970.PMID:34466220 | PMC:PMC8382984 | DOI:10.1016/j.amsu.2021.102726
BACKGROUND: The Bispectral (BIS) monitor is a validated, noninvasive monitor placed over the forehead to titrate sedation in patients under general anesthesia in the operating room. In the neurocritical care unit, there is limited room on the forehead because of incisions, injuries, and other monitoring devices. This is a pilot study to determine whether a BIS nasal montage correlates to the standard frontal-temporal data in this patient population. METHODS: This prospective nonandomized pilot study enrolled 10 critically ill, intubated, and sedated adult patients admitted to the neurocritical care unit. Each patient had a...

CANCEROUS cells multiplying in the stomach can lead to notoriously "hard to spot" symptoms. However, once you are aware of the warning signs, you can seek medical assistance should they arise.
CONCLUSION: This paper presents the first description of the CLQD database since its inception. CLQ will continue to evolve over time, and the breadth and depth of this data asset will continue to grow. ASCO and CLQ's long-term goal is to improve the quality of patient care and create a sustainable database for oncology researchers. These results demonstrate that CLQ built a scalable database that can be used for oncology research.PMID:34110931 | DOI:10.1200/CCI.21.00011
CONCLUSION: We found that 1-in-11 cancer survivors developed a SPC. Given the increasing number of cancer survivors and the importance of SPC as a cause of cancer death, there is a need for increased screening for and prevention of SPC. PMID: 32356175 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE]
