A national audit of oral propranolol for the treatment of Infantile Hemangiomas

Br J Dermatol. 2021 Sep 2. doi: 10.1111/bjd.20738. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTInfantile haemangiomas (IH) affect up to 4% of infants and are the most common tumour of infancy. Although self-limiting, some lesions can lead to visual impairment, airway obstruction, ulceration or cosmetic disfigurement and require intervention. Oral propranolol, a nonselective beta-blocker was serendipitously identified as an effective treatment of IH in 2008 and is now recommended as first-line therapy for complicated lesions.PMID:34473344 | DOI:10.1111/bjd.20738
