Remuneration and working conditions are always worth considering when applying for a career. The health service is chronically underfunded and staff have had real term wage cuts for years now. And working conditions in the NHS are not great. If these things sit higher up on your list of priorities in the short term, you may want to think again because it does take a long time to hit the salary heights in medicine, although once you’re there, you’re there and it’s the inevitable end point of a highly structured career, where other careers lack the cert...
