Association between abuse and neglect with functional constipation and irritable bowel syndrome in adolescents

CONCLUSIONS: Functional constipation and irritable bowel syndrome were associated with violence exposure, physical abuse, psychological abuse, and neglect in adolescent students from public schools. No association was found with sexual abuse.
