Poster abstracts

Objectives: Since abortion was legalized throughout the US in 1973, states have passed many restrictive abortion policies, including, in some cases, only permitting obstetrician-gynecologist physicians (Ob-Gyn) to provide abortions. There is no data directly comparing patient safety-related outcomes by physician specialty. To understand if patient safety differs by physician specialty, we compared major and any abortion-related morbidity and adverse events in abortion care provided by physicians of other specialties versus Ob-Gyns.
