It is 25 years since the publication of Milan criteria for liver transplantation in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but the optimum management of patients progressing beyond Milan criteria on the waiting list remains a controversial topic. Ferrer-F àbrega and coworkers aimed to determine whether the policy of allowing limited progression beyond enlistment criteria permits acceptable outcomes. Patients were retained on the waiting list despite exceeding enlistment criteria if they did not present with macrovascular invasion, extrahepatic sprea d or cancer-related symptoms.

CONCLUSIONS: Based on a series of investigations, it was found that miR-30b-5p may participate in the peroxisome signal transduction by downregulating ABCD3-mediated module 1, thereby promoting the development and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma. In this study, we identified a complete list of differentially expressed ncNATs in hepatocellular carcinoma. Among them, a previously undescribed ncNAT HNF4A-AS1L suppressed cancer cell growth by regulating its sense gene HNF4A, a well-known cancer driver, through a promoter-specific mechanism.
