Mirror mirror on the wall, who is going to be readmitted after all?

AbstractIn the jungle of biomarkers that predicts long-term outcome, there are many discrepancies and there is more evidence from single-center retrospective studies rather than clinical trials. While some of these biomarkers such as high sensitivity troponin levels, creatine kinase (CK), and CK-MB have demonstrated a good pattern for patients ’ follow-up, other biomarkers are still struggling to get validated and internationally renown due to the small number of patients included in the studies and their retrospective nature. In this context, Brown and colleagues must be congratulated as they have marked the pathway for future clinical trials.
