Chronic inflammation and extracellular matrix-specific autoimmunity following inadvertent periarticular influenza vaccination

CONCLUSION: Vaccine misapplication, potentially a genetic predisposition, and vaccine components contribute to SIRVA. The association with autoimmunity risk allele HLA-DRB1*04 needs to be further investigated.
