Dengue and Dementia Risk: A Nationwide Longitudinal Study

Dengue is an acute systemic disease and a mosquito-borne viral infection transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes [1]. Dengue is widespread throughout tropical and sub-tropical urban regions [1]. The incidence of dengue has increased dramatically, according to the World Health Organization report in May 2015 [2], However, the actual incidence of dengue is still underreported. Each year, there are approximately 390 million newly diagnosed dengue infections, of which 96 million develop clinical manifestations with some level of severity [3].
