ConclusionOSD affects mainly adolescent boys active in football and basketball and represents a structural answer to repeated biomechanical stress. Only in football, the statically dominant side is more prone to develop OSD. Age at onset, growth rate, BMI, and muscle imbalance are not significantly predisposing. OSD runs a self-limiting course without specific treatment.
