What is the diagnostic value of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention criteria for surgical site infection in fracture-related infection?
Fracture-Related Infection (FRI) remains one of the most challenging complications in orthopaedic trauma surgery. If not recognized and treated at an early stage it can lead to permanent loss of function or even amputation of the affected limb. Therefore, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment are of paramount importance [1 –4].
