A Trial of Albuterol Should Still Be Considered for Children With Severe Bronchiolitis
To the Editor The cluster randomized clinical trial by Haskell et al aimed to improve bronchiolitis management by deimplementing potentially unnecessary care, including the use of albuterol. Among the trial ’s findings was a significant increase in the proportion of children who did not receive albuterol (86% in the control group vs 94% in the intervention group). The authors state that “compliance with not using the pharmacotherapies should be 100%.” We disagree.
